Lush Confirms Plans To Open Moncton Location In 2023
MONCTON – One of the world’s largest cosmetic retailers is coming to Moncton late next year.
Ky Edet, a spokesperson with Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, confirmed the chain will be opening a location in the Moncton area sometime in September of 2023.
“We have Moncton tentatively scheduled to open September of next year,” Edet wrote in an email to Huddle.
This isn’t Lush’s first foray into Moncton. In December of 2019, the chain opened its first-ever holiday pop-up store in the green space next to city hall, testing the market for a potential permanent store.
At the time, a former Lush spokesperson told Huddle the chain was considering launching a store in Moncton in either 2020 or 2021.
Edet did not answer any more specific questions about the permanent store opening in the Moncton area in 2023. She deferred any further disclosure on the matter until an unspecified time closer to the opening date.
While Edet couldn’t provide specifics on where in Greater Moncton Lush will open, fit-up work at the CF Champlain mall sparked rumors that the chain would be opening in the former locations of Victoria’s Secret and the Swarovski outlet store.
Lush‘s permanent presence in the Maritimes is currently limited to its locations at the Halifax Shopping Centre and Dartmouth’s Mic Mac Mall.

People with connections to Lush’s Halifax area retail presence also have been hinting at plans by Lush to find a permanent berth in Greater Moncton.
Lush, founded in 1995 by British entrepreneur Mark Constantine and five of his friends, has made a reputation for itself with its handmade cosmetics and other products that include, soaps, creams, shampoos, shower gels, lotions moisturizers, scrubs, and masks.
Lush uses vegetarian – and in some cases, vegan – recipes to manufacture its products.
The chain rose from the ashes of a previous venture in the same industry called Cosmetics To Go – a business its owners claim lost its footing “through a combination of over-trading and flooding.”

In addition to the United Kingdom and Canada, Lush has locations across the United States, Croatia, Germany, Japan, and Australia.
Lush’s Canadian headquarters is located in Vancouver and its cosmetics manufacturing center is in Etobicoke, Ontario.
