East Coast Lifestyle Breaks Ground In Bayer’s Lake
HALIFAX — East Coast Lifestyle is going to hit a major milestone. Next week, it will break ground on its new headquarters in Bayer’s Lake. The two-acre property will replace the 10,000 square-foot warehouse that East Coast Lifestyle is fast outgrowing. Construction is expected to finish in the Spring of 2023.
“We’re bottle-necked at how many orders we can get out per day, based on the space we have,” CEO Alex MacLean told Huddle in 2021.
The company spent $1.8 million just on the land where the building will be constructed. MacLean wants to get his money’s worth; the Bayer’s Lake location will take a modern spin on what a headquarters will look like.
MacLean told Huddle he wants the headquarters to be a destination location, complete with a coffee shop, basketball court, and storefront.
The company also teased there will be “some more surprises” when the building is ready to open.
“We’re very excited to get into a bigger space & grow the brand to the next level. We’ve been dreaming of this day for years & it feels surreal to see it coming to life,” Reads a post from East Coast Lifestyle’s Facebook page posted Tuesday.
Far from being just a Maritime clothing producer, East Coast Lifestyle has expanded its brand in recent years. Two years ago they partnered with Covered Bridge to launch East Coast Chips. They have also launched alcoholic beverages under the East Coast brand, including an iced tea and a rum soda product.
Most recently, East Coast Lifestyle partnered with PEI-based Retro Cannabis to create a new CBD Oil. The new cannabis product contains only 1 mg/ml of THC, meaning it isn’t meant to get you high. MacLean says he hopes East Coast Lifestyle CBD Oil will help with anxiety issues and getting a good night’s sleep.
