3+ Corporation Names Susy Campos CEO
MONCTON – Susy Campos, formerly the CEO of Community Grants Associates, will be the CEO of Greater Moncton’s economic development agency 3+ Corporation, effective June 10.
“I am truly honoured to have been selected as the new CEO of 3+,” Campos said in a press release. “And I’m delighted that this new role allows me the chance to continue working closely with community stakeholders and business leaders towards the long-term economic success and growth of our region. I am so encouraged by this vote of confidence, and by the support I’ve received from all those who participated in arriving at this significant decision for our economy.”
Campos comes from a background of strategy and governance advising, program development, fundraising and philanthropy. Holding a Masters of Business Administration from Université de Moncton and a Masters in International Relations and Political Theory from McMaster University, she has served on various non-profit boards including the John Howard Society, Headstart Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Moncton West & Riverview Rotary Club to name just a few.
She had also run as a Liberal party candidate in 2017.
“Susy has an extensive background in both municipal and economic development issues within Canada and the United States. A resident of the Greater Moncton area, she is a tireless contributor to the growth and well-being of the entire region through her active involvement in community and social enterprise organizations,” said 3+ board chair Martin Haynes in the release.
“She brings to her new position a commitment to tangible results that is best achieved through clarity of priorities, collaboration with her team and stakeholders, and a clear focus on desired outcomes. With the support of the three municipal governments, all strategic partners and community stakeholders, there is no doubt that the regional economic development agency will continue its positive impact on the Greater Moncton region.”
Campos will be working alongside 3+’s board and staff, the private sector leaders who are 3+’s strategic partners, the mayors of Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe, the three municipalities’ economic development entities, the provincial and federal governments, and other community stakeholders.
The economic development agency had been led by interim co-CEOs Don Moore and Frederic Gionet since the end of September, after Eric Mourant resigned from his role.
Both Gionet and Moore will return to their former roles as vice president of business intelligence and operations, and director of entrepreneurship and business startup, respectively.
The appointment of a new CEO means the organization can make and operate based on longer-term plans.
