Trampoline Park to Open in Saint John
SAINT JOHN– A Saint John commercial real estate agent is jumping into a new venture by opening a trampoline park in the city.
Jonathon Rasenberg, a realtor with Coldwell Banker Select Realty and Melissa Roy, will open Oasis Trampoline Park this summer at the former Goodlife location in Parkway Mall.
Rasenberg says the idea to open a trampoline park in the city came while he was working on another commercial project on the east side. He then brought the idea to the attention of Roy.
“One of the guys we were working with said, ‘What about a trampoline park? We are looking for tenants for this building,’ ” he says.
Rasenberg was all too familiar with the thrill of jumping on a trampoline, having grown up with one as a kid.
I absolutely loved it. We used it more than any other thing our parents ever bought us,” he says. “My parents always said that it was the best buy they ever made.”
So he decided to do some research and reached out to trampoline park owners in Atlantic Canada to see if any of them would be interested in opening a park in Saint John. It turns out the owners of Off The Wallz in P.E.I was interested.
“I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and I thought, ‘I would like to do more than broker the deal, I want to be a partner in it,’ ” says Rasenberg. “We made a proposal to them.”
The owners of Off The Wallz agreed to enter a 50/50 partnership for a new independent park. Oasis will feature trampoline dodgeball courts, slam dunk tracks, a Ninja Warrior Course, a Sweeper Agility Challange, Olympic performance trampolines, fitness classes and dodgeball leagues.
The park will also have a café and lounge and feature the largest indoor Soft Play center for children under four feet tall in New Brunswick.
Rasenberg says the park will attract people from St. Stephen to Sussex.
“It’s a destination thing,” he says. “People will drive for it.”
The location is in the midst of renovations and Rasenberg says Oasis Trampoline park is expected to open sometime in July.
They have also selected a location for a Fredericton trampoline park and will begin construction this coming winter.
