Target Comes Crawling Back To Canada
SAINT JOHN – If you’ve been missing Target since they closed all their Canadian stores, we have some good news.
Target is adding international shipping options, and prices in Canadian dollars to their online store.
In a quiet rollout, the U.S. retail giant is now shipping orders to Canada. This is their second attempt to expand their customer base in Canada, after closing their 133 retail locations earlier this year, after less than two years in business.
There are some restrictions–Canadian orders are not eligible for: free shipping (including for REDcard holders), free returns, gifts/gift cards with purchase, gift wrap services, Cartwheel offers, subscriptions, registries, coupons, store pickup, warranties, extended service plans. Other promotional restrictions may apply.
Despite the low exchange rate, Target is hoping to bring back shoppers who have felt their absence in the recent months. One such move is pre-calculated duties and taxes with a guarantee of no further chargers at delivery. While paying for shipping and duties might be high, it’s nice to know you won’t be stuck with another bill upon arrival.
You’re Welcome.
