McInnes Cooper Promotes Three NB Lawyers to Partner
FREDERICTON–McInnes Cooper has promoted seven of its lawyers, including three New Brunswickers, to partner.
Shivani Chopra, Adel Gönczi and Leanne Murray are the newest McInnes Cooper partners. Fredericton-based Chopra focuses on insurance defence, general litigation and labour and employment law. Gönczi, based in the firm’s Moncton office, practices corporate commercial law, debt recovery and estate planning while Murray, also based in Fredericton, specializes in estate insurance and general commercial litigation.
McInnes Cooper has 47 lawyers in New Brunswick, part of the firm’s network of 200 lawyers throughout Atlantic Canada.
All the new partners with McInnes Cooper became members of the bar between 2005 and 2009. Ray Adlington, managing partner and CEO of McInnes Cooper, explained that this group of new partners is the largest that meet the criteria for partner at one time.
“The partnership unanimously agreed on the seven new partners,” Adlington said. “Most have already led files in their fields and as partners, each will be expected to continue to grow their leadership roles in the firm. We have confidence in this new group of partners and welcome them to the partnership.”
The group will officially take on their new roles on January 1.
