Gahan House Restaurant and Brewery to Open Fredericton Location
FREDERICTON – The Gahan House restaurant and brewery will open a location in downtown Fredericton next spring, the company announced this week.
The P.E.I.-based Murphy Hospitality Group has purchased Vault 29 on Queen Street and will locate the new restaurant there. Kevin Murphy, president of the Murphy Group, says Fredericton has been a great supporter of the Gahan beers in local liquor stores and its craft-beer scene makes it a perfect location for the next New Brunswick location.
“We are very excited about the purchase of Vault 29 and the conversion to a Gahan House Restaurant and Brewery,” said Murphy in a release. “Fredericton is a craft beer destination and we very much look forward to being part of this scene. Fredericton has been very good to us in the support of our beers in the N.B. Liquor stores. We want to support communities that support us and look forward to giving back to the economy of N.B.”
The Port City Gahan House recently opened in Saint John. There are also locations in Charlottetown and Halifax, with Moncton location scheduled to open next year as well.

Jamie Willis, representing the ownership group of Vault 29, said his company is happy the Queen Street location will continue to be a popular food and beverage establishment.
“We are pleased that the Gahan brand is coming to Fredericton and that our location will continue as one of the city’s popular downtown food and beverage destinations,” said Willis. “We want to thank our customers for their support and patronage, and our employees for their commitment and dedication.”
The Murphy Group said the Fredericton Gahan House will have a 120-seat dining room, an oyster bar, two seasonal outdoor patios and a five-barrel brewing system.
About 40 people are expected to be hired prior to the restaurant’s opening, which is expected to happen in the spring of next year.
