Fredericton-based Eyesover Hits Next Step with New Issue Discovery Software
FREDERICTON – Eyesover Technologies, a company providing online media monitoring, is reaching out to a broader client base with the release of their new Issue Discovery software.
The Issue Discovery module is the latest addition to an online media monitoring system aimed at any company, public sector or organization dependent on public opinion.
Eyesover CEO Craig Leonard says they’re trying to get ahead of the curve for clients when an issue relating to them starts being discussed or mentioned online. He explains that relevant information is picked up using certain terminology and phrases.
“The whole idea is just to give our customers a heads up and give them a bit of an advantage when one of these issues starts developing that they can react to it and get at it,” Leonard says.
Eyesover aims to stand out among other social media monitoring tools because the system not only uses information its users give it but builds from there and predicts what other online content would be relevant.
“The limitation of most social media monitoring tools is selection bias,” says Eyesover co-founder Ali Ghorbani. “A system will only report on what you tell it to monitor. Eyesover’s new Issue Discovery module can extrapolate from existing data to see the potential development of issues a customer may not be aware of.”
Leonard explains that their technology allows users to input information relevant to their companies or organizations and receive detailed online data.
“It’s a full-blown user interface dashboard-based system … They’re able to get all of the data in terms of the analytics we do, which is all based on text analysis and natural language programming. It’s basically a very robust system that gives our customers a huge amount of information about what’s going on in their industry and what people are saying.”
Leonard says that their most recent launch is a considerable improvement on the original technology. It allows their clients to get deeper into the data and determine from there what is likely to happen in the future and what issues they need to be paying attention to.
“It was a big step for us to get the results we were looking for through our testing and as a result we wanted to get it out to the marketplace as soon as possible. It now comes as a feature with any Eyesover system,” Leonard says.
Eyesover is now focusing on increasing their market share and releasing the full version 2.0 of their product. They’re also looking ahead at expanding the technology to help clients find customers for their own products and services.
“When we show people what we’re doing, right away they see the benefit of it and they like the way the system looks,” Leonard says. “The proof is in the fact that we’ve got customers who have taken the system on a trial basis to see what they think of it and basically all of them have continued to use the system after the trial period has ended.”
“We feel that there’s really good potential for growth in both of those areas that will help us attract more customers and allow us to scale at a much faster pace.”
