{"id":180745,"date":"2022-09-07T12:48:33","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T15:48:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huddle.today\/?p=180745"},"modified":"2022-09-07T12:49:15","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T15:49:15","slug":"cannabis-nb-announces-10-new-privately-run-stores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2022\/09\/07\/cannabis-nb-announces-10-new-privately-run-stores\/","title":{"rendered":"Cannabis NB Makes Way For 10 Privately Run Stores"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><h4><strong>FREDERICTON \u2013 New Brunswick\u2019s cannabis Crown Corporation is widening its private sector footprint in the province.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On September 7, Cannabis NB disclosed plans to open 10 private retail stores across the province in Hampton, St. Andrews, Grand Bay, Bouctouche, Caraquet, Dalhousie, St-Quentin, Blackville, Chipman, and Salisbury.<\/p>\n<p>The ten private stores won&#8217;t sell cannabis under the Cannabis NB name but will be privately owned and operated under their own brands.<\/p>\n<p>Cannabis NB will be choosing private retailers to open the business through a public tendering process. That process opened and began accepting applications a day before the announcement, on September 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will be legal and licensed to sell cannabis in New Brunswick, and will offer a full portfolio of legal, regulated products across all categories, sourced from Cannabis NB,\u201d says a release announcing the news.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\"><a style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2022\/03\/22\/cannabis-nb-clears-its-debts-and-is-now-a-profiting-standalone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RELATED: After Rocky Start, Cannabis NB Is Debt-Free And Profiting<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This expansion of Cannabis NB\u2019s retail model is part of an evolution strategy that will make it easier for New Brunswickers to access legal, safe cannabis products, notes the release.<\/p>\n<p>Cannabis NB CEO Lori Stickles said the opening of the private locations is a bid to provide better access to safe, regulated cannabis products in underserved parts of New Brunswick and combat the cannabis black market.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\"><a style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2021\/10\/03\/new-ceo-of-liquor-corporation-cannabis-nb-wants-to-keep-the-momentum-going\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RELATED: New CEO Of Liquor Corporation, Cannabis NB Wants To Keep The Momentum Going<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking forward to expanding our offering to include private retail in New Brunswick,\u201d Stickles said.<\/p>\n<p>The plans for ten new private retail locations are the result of work that began in 2021 when the Higgs government proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2021\/12\/01\/private-cannabis-nb-stores-could-be-coming-soon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\">amendments<\/span><\/a> to the law to allow Cannabis NB to open private retail stores.<\/p>\n<p>These amendments also paved the way for the <a href=\"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2021\/08\/30\/cannabis-nb-allows-local-producers-to-sell-their-own-products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\">FarmGate<\/span><\/a> retail model, which allows cannabis producers to sell cannabis, on-site at their locations.<\/p>\n<p>The first FarmGate operation that opened in New Brunswick was Shediac <span style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\"><a style=\"color: #1cb1f3;\" href=\"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2021\/11\/22\/crystal-cure-launches-new-brunswicks-first-on-site-cannabis-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cape-based Crystal Cure<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-180745\" data-postid=\"180745\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-180745 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On September 7, Cannabis NB disclosed plans to open 10 private retail stores across the province in Hampton, St. Andrews, Grand Bay, Bouctouche, Caraquet, Dalhousie, St-Quentin, Blackville, Chipman, and Salisbury.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":374,"featured_media":179040,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":0,"footnotes":"","_expiration-date-status":"","_expiration-date":0,"_expiration-date-type":"","_expiration-date-categories":[],"_expiration-date-options":[]},"categories":[33688,33687,33684,25241,33686],"tags":[25747,25888,25342,34282,25243,27336],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.8 -
