{"id":11686,"date":"2016-06-24T08:55:13","date_gmt":"2016-06-24T11:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huddle.today\/?p=11686"},"modified":"2021-10-30T22:29:20","modified_gmt":"2021-10-31T01:29:20","slug":"saint-john-airport-appoints-new-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huddle.today\/2016\/06\/24\/saint-john-airport-appoints-new-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Saint John Airport Appoints New CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">&lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minute<\/span><\/span><h4>SAINT JOHN \u2013 Saint John Airport has a new man in charge.<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Derrick Stanford, 52, has been chosen as the airport&#8217;s new CEO after an extensive international search.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stanford was previously senior vice president of Enterprise Sales at Intelex Technologies Inc. in\u00a0Fredericton. A Montreal native, Mr. Stanford graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1987\u00a0and has spent his entire career in increasingly senior sales and marketing roles across North America. He\u00a0has lived and worked in New Brunswick for the past 12 years, primarily in the technology sector.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Norm McFarlane, chair of the Saint John Airport board of directors, said one of Sanford&#8217;s biggest tasks will be<\/span>\u00a0developing the local airport\u2019s physical assets, such as vacant land holdings and\u00a0selling the airport to the greater Saint John community.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cCompetition from airports in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Maine is intense,\u201d said McFarlane, in a release. \u00a0\u201cOne of Mr. Stanford\u2019s key tasks will be to ensure the Saint John Airport retains more than its fair share of southern New Brunswick\u2019s air travellers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sanford says he&#8217;s up for the challenge.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cI\u2019m confident my marketing experience, combined with the air carrier expertise of our staff, will retain the Saint John Airport\u2019s role as a vital transportation link for local business and leisure travellers,&#8221; he said in the release. \u00a0&#8220;We need to take steps to improve passenger numbers and I intend to work with our airline partners and others to ensure this growth takes place.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-11686\" data-postid=\"11686\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-11686 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Saint John Airport has a new man in charge. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":374,"featured_media":11689,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":0,"footnotes":"","_expiration-date-status":"saved","_expiration-date":0,"_expiration-date-type":"","_expiration-date-categories":[],"_expiration-date-options":[]},"categories":[33688,33684,25241,33685,33686],"tags":[25248,26329],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.8 -
