Unemployment Up in New Brunswick in October
MONCTON – Unemployment in New Brunswick was up in October according to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada.
New Brunswick unemployment jumped to 10 per cent in October from 9.3 per cent in September.
Statistics Canada also released seasonally adjusted, three-month moving average unemployment rates for major cities. In Moncton, unemployment remained the same at 6.9 per cent. However unemployment rose in Saint John to 7.6 per cent in October from 7.3 per cent in September.
Nationally, the unemployment rate remained at 7.0 per cent.
Though these numbers are positive, Statistics Canada says the figures are based on small statistical samples and may fluctuate widely.
