Unemployment Down in New Brunswick in August
Unemployment in New Brunswick went down last month according to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada.
New Brunswick unemployment went down to 9.4 in August from 9.7 in July.
Statistics Canada also released seasonally adjusted, three-month moving average unemployment rates for major cities. In Moncton, unemployment went down to 7.2 per cent from 7.7 per cent in July. However, unemployment in Saint John rose to 7.9 per cent in August from 7.3 per cent in July.
Nationally, the unemployment rate was 7.0 per cent in August, up slightly from 6.9 per cent in July.
Though these numbers are positive, Statistics Canada says these figures are based on small statistical samples and may fluctuate widely.
