FREDERICTON – The new Marshalls store is opening in Uptown Centre August 27, a company official confirmed Tuesday.

The sign on the front of the store was installed earlier this week and job fair is scheduled for July 18 – 21 at the Delta Hotel on Woodstock Road.

The company representative said more details would be released in early August. Renovations and other preparations are on schedule so they don’t anticipate any delays on the scheduled opening date.

Marshalls is owned by TJX Companies, a Fortune 100 company that bills itself as the largest off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and globally. TJX Canada also owns Winners and HomeSense.

The retailer offers prices below those at department and specialty stores for comparable merchandise.

Last fall Marshalls opened a new store in Saint John, and earlier this year it also opened one in Bathurst.

The company made the original announcement about a new store in Fredericton in the spring of 2018.
