Side Door is a platform that pairs musicians and artists with venues. Mangan and Simpson believe anything, and everything can be a performance venue, from a living room, to a backyard, a café, or even outdoors in a park or field.
Side Door will be booking a mini road tour for five of the artists playing at SXSW 2022. Each band will play up to five shows between their hometowns and Austin, Texas, where SXSW is held each year.
Side Door’s ‘Back to Live’ virtual program was launched last summer in the United States. The company operated by Laura Simpson and award-winning musician Dan Mangan is now offering its service worldwide.
Side Door, which was launched by entrepreneur Laura Simpson and Juno-winning musician Dan Mangan, is like Airbnb, but for performance venues rather than lodging.
In 2017 Laura Simpson and Juno award winner Dan Mangan launched Side Door, an online platform that matched artists with places to play.
Side Door will receive cash prize and the option for investment from NBIF and Innovacorp worth a total of $30,000.
