The Outdoor Outdoor Film Festival will premiere on the uptown Saint John waterfront on Friday night. It is a celebration of stories of outdoor playgrounds, from local spots and scenes around the world.
The village will showcase retail shops, a waterfront container bar, food trucks, a performance space, and more. The 54 shipping containers have been on the Water Street site for a few weeks now but the work began much sooner at another site in the city.
Over the weekend, the team from Area 506 started to move the first group of shipping containers for its much-anticipated Container Village.

The new permanent Waterfront Container Village in the new home of the Area 506 festival is taking shape on Water Street in Saint John in two different ways.
The award winners this year include the Saint John Tool Library, Zesty Lemon, Area 506, J.D. Irving Ltd., and the New Brunswick Black History Society.
Area 506 has opened vendor applications for its permanent Vendor Village, located alongside the Marco Polo cruise ship terminal on Water Street.
