Discount Airline Swoop To Offer Flights Out Of Moncton, Charlottetown and St. John’s
MONCTON- People looking to fly out of Moncton to Ontario will soon have another airline option.
On Thursday, Swoop, a discount airline that’s a subsidiary of WestJet Airlines Ltd., announced it will be expanding services on the east coast with flights between Hamilton, Ontario and Moncton, NB; St. John’s, NL; and Charlottetown, PEI. The new service will begin in June as Swoop receives its tenth aircraft.
“The growth of our fleet means more opportunities for Canadians as we continue our mission of making air travel simple, affordable and accessible for every traveller,” said Steven Greenway, president of Swoop, in a release. “Our growth in Eastern Canada is an exciting milestone for Swoop, proving our ability to develop our network domestically, while also adding to our U.S. and international destinations.”
The new service between John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and St. John’s, Moncton and Charlottetown will run from June through October 2020.

Swoop’s summer 2020 network will serve 12 domestic, five transborder and three international destinations. To keeps fares low, the airline offers a base fare that starts with just a seat, giving travellers the power to add the things they want.
The flight between Hamilton and Moncton will run four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
