New Brunswick’s Remsoft Expands in Brazil
FREDERICTON – New Brunswick forestry technology company Remsoft is opening a Brazilian branch.
Remsoft Soluçãos Ltda, located in Vitória, Espírito Santo, will help Remsoft better serve the South American forestry market, primarily plantation. Though owned by Remsoft, the branch will operate as an independent business in the country.
Senior vice-president Doug Jones says though the company has been doing business in the Brazil for 10 years through partners and agents, it’s time for Remsoft to have its own presence on the ground.
“It came time in our business development to open up and support that market fully,” Jones told Huddle.
“When you have your own entity, you can serve the market place your way, not through partners. That was the big thing, being able to serve out customers the Remsoft way.”
Jones says having a presence on the ground in Brazil will not only help better serve existing customers, but will also create more business in the region.
“The reasons for this are really that it’s a very different operating environment down there. The language differences are significant, it’s culturally different, it’s certainly different from a business perspective and it needs someone on the ground to foster those relationships,” he says. “That will allow us to position ourselves to fully develop the Brazilian and South American marketplace at-large.”
The grand opening of Remsoft Brazil will be celebrated during the company’s conference in Vitória, BR in November.
