Raha Mosca Receives CPA Emerging Leader Award
SAINT JOHN – A Saint John woman will be receiving an award in April to recognize the work she’s done early in her career.
Raha Mosca is the recipient of the 2019 CPA New Brunswick Emerging Leader Award.
“It feels I would say more than anything it’s really thrilling. I’ve very thrilled, humbled and I would say honoured to be receiving this award,” said Mosca, a product trader at Irving Oil, where she’s worked for 10 years.
Mosca immigrated to Canada in 2006 as an international student and studied at the University of Saint John. She studied agricultural engineering in Iran, and completed business studies while at UNB.
From there she went into certified management accounting while also working on her executive masters of business administration. She graduated from the CMA and the MBA in 2012/2013.
“When you study accounting, it just opens your world to a broader board. You just basically have a good financial background to do many different things,” she said.
Mosca said in a way when she moved, she had to start anew, and she thinks her passion is one of the things that makes her stand apart.
“To really build on that life, in a new world, that there are unlimited opportunities, the sky is the limit, I would say I really embraced that,” said Mosca.
