Prelco Creating 20 New Jobs At Saint-Jacques Plant
SAINT-JACQUES–The New Brunswick government is helping Prelco Inc. expand operations at its glass manufacturing plant in Saint-Jacques.
Prelco Inc. offers expertise to architects, engineers and customers by providing glass products for commercial buildings along with industrial and transportation markets. The expansion will create 20 new full-time manufacturing and administrative positions.
“With the financial support from Opportunities NB, Prelco NB is proud to invest this year more than $250,000 in laser, tempering and energy technologies that will increase productivity,” said Michel Morin, assistant director to the vice-presidents at Prelco NB. “We will create at least 20 new jobs over the next three years which means that Prelco NB will then have more than 100 employees.”
The expansion is expected to contribute about 1.8 million annually to New Brunswick’s GDP.
“We are pleased that Prelco has chosen to grow by bringing more skilled jobs to northwestern New Brunswick,” said Premier Brian Gallant. “This expansion will increase productivity at the company and position it for growth, while also boosting the provincial economy and supporting local families.”
