Temporary Foreign Workers To Arrive In N.B. Through Moncton Airport
MONCTON – International flights carrying temporary foreign workers into New Brunswick will soon arrive at the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport.
The airport announced the arrival of the temporary workers on Sunwing Airlines in “the coming days,” not specifying exactly when they would arrive.
The TFWs are being brought in to help deal with a labour shortage in at agriculture and aquaculture operations across the province.
Previously, Premier Blaine Higgs reversed course on a ban which would have prevented the laborers from entering the province due to the pandemic.
Faced with a labour crisis, and the possibility of provincial farmers facing unprecedented losses, the Premier changed his mind last week.
The workers will be required to self-isolate for the mandatory 14-day quarantine period imposed on all international or out-of-province visitors.
