New Gym Coming To Lancaster Mall As Part Of Renovations
SAINT JOHN – Lancaster Mall will welcome a fitness centre by the end of the year.
Toronto-based owners, Strathallen, announced in a news release the mall on the west side of the city will soon include a “National Fitness provider.” The exact franchise that will occupy the space is yet to be announced and Strathallen has refused comment.
This development comes after renovations on the mall began in 2019. Design images indicate that the gym will occupy the space formerly occupied by Urban Planet.
The fitness centre will be located next to the Bank of Montreal and No Frills and will occupy 15,000 square feet of space. Construction on the space is expected to wrap by the end of the summer, and a grand opening is expected before the end of 2021.
The Saint John Free Public Library will also move to a bigger location in the mall. The library will now be located next to Walmart with a new look and direct access from the parking lot. It is expected to open early this summer.
“The relocated library will continue to offer all the services and programs currently enjoyed, with new programs and amenities to be announced closer to the grand opening,” said a representative from the Saint John Free Public Library in the news release.
