Mount A Partners With Atlantic Lottery in Business Case Competition
MONCTON– Some students at Mount Allison University are testing their skills in a business case competition with Atlantic Lottery.
The pilot program is giving Marketing Management course students an opportunity to tackle a business case study addressing a current challenge with Atlantic Lottery– appealing to young folks.
Through a business case competition, 50 students will explore how Atlantic Lottery can be more relevant to people in their 20s and 30s.
“These students grew up not knowing what life is like without technology. How they use it, their experiences and preferences are unique compared to other generations. This will help us better understand their motivations and expectations,” says Jean-Marc Landry, Atlantic Lottery’s Director of Customer Innovation.
The idea for the program came from student Jeffrey Owen, who worked at Atlantic Lottery for the past two summers.
“ALC provided an environment that encouraged the free-flow of ideas. For the past two summers I worked around the idea of finding ways that Atlantic Lottery could better engage players at the younger end of the spectrum,” Owen said.
“Even though I was not in the class, I knew that there was a lack of marketing case competitions at Mount Allison and was thrilled by the prospect of filling that void.”
Students will assume the role of consultants and research innovative ways to address Atlantic Lottery’s challenge with this demographic. They are required to present fact-based research to support their solutions.
ALC will award cash prizes for the top three presentations, and provide judges to determine the winners.
