Moncton Area’s 3+ Corporation Announces Interim CEO
MONCTON – The board of directors at 3+ Corporation announced Tuesday that economic development specialist Michael MacBride will serve as part-time interim CEO.
Michael MacBride will begin his duties at 3+ Corporation on January 4th as the search for a permanent CEO continues. Former CEO Ben Champoux resigned last week.
MacBride worked in the economic development field for over 30 years. He has experience in government as director of the province’s investment attraction and export development initiatives. Outside of government, he provided consulting services to governments and organizations in Atlantic Canada and beyond.
“I am pleased to have been asked to serve as the interim CEO of 3+ Corporation. The Greater Moncton community is arguably the most dynamic region of the province,” MacBride said in a release. “My objective during this interim period will be to advance dossiers of the Corporation, deal with important challenges faced by the community and seamlessly bridge the time until the new CEO is appointed.”
3+ Corporation, in conjunction with Moncton’s Battah Associates, expects the search for a permanent CEO to take six to eight weeks. James Lockyer, chair of 3+ Corporation board of directors, said that the board is pleased to have MacBride on board in the meantime.
“We are excited about this opportunity and we are looking toward the future as a new chapter in economic development unfolds before us. 2016 promises to be a tremendous year for the Greater Moncton area,” Lockyer said.
