La Place Using Former Adelin Properties Office As Pop-Up Rental Space
MONCTON – La Place, an Adelin Properties-owned co-working hub located at Place 1604 in Dieppe, has started a short-term rental offering at 735 Main Street in Moncton.
La Place community manager Olivia Steeves said the 1,276-square-foot office space in downtown Moncton was where Adelin Properties operated from before the staff moved over the co-working hub in Dieppe.
“The way [the pop-up idea] came about was we moved there, and our old offices are now vacant. So we are going to rent them out temporarily,” she said. “We already have the space, so why don’t we put in short-term rentals in here until we can rent it out long-term.”
The space has two large offices – one executive office and one that can fit eight people, a six-people meeting room with a TV, a storage room that can be turned into an office, and a kitchen with a fridge, a microwave and a Keurig coffee machine. The premises also has wi-fi.
Staff will be available on-premises when there’s a booking there, but the door also has a pin code for customers who are signed in.
Compared to the Dieppe location, which has the full suite of services including printing, coffee makers and other things, the Main St. location has fewer things but includes basics like pens and papers covered.
“This is more like a satellite option,” Steeves said.
Customers can rent individual rooms or the whole office space on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The rate for a full-day booking is $100 per room, Steeves said, while longer rentals can be booked at discounted rates. Bookings can be made online through La Place’s website.
“If someone were to approach us and say we want this entire space for our team for only a month, we’d say, hey great, we have the space for you. The office is ready to go. But ideally, we’re thinking of doing individual rooms,” Steeves said.
Steeves said La Place may use the model for other Adelin Properties’ vacant office spaces in the future. Adelin Properties manages nine properties in the Greater Moncton area, according to its website.
“If it’s the case that we have an office that opens up, if it’s a space where the lease does end, absolutely. It’s kind of this thing that works with our business structure. It’s easy to do – most of these offices are ready to go, so why would we let them sit here and be vacant?” Steeves said. “It’s also a selling tactic. People can come in and they see the space…it’s available long-term if they want it.”
