L.L. Bean Coming To Dartmouth Crossing This Year
DARTMOUTH — Popular American clothing and outdoor supply company L.L. Bean will open a location in Dartmouth later this year.
The new, 15,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in Dartmouth Crossing in “mid-2021,” according to Dartmouth Crossing owners North American Development Group.
L.L. Bean was founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean. It’s headquartered in Freeport, Maine and has more than 50 stores in the United States.
The company opened its first Canadian store in 2019, in Oakville, Ontario, and has since added locations in Barrie, Ottawa, and Toronto. The company’s Dartmouth store will be its first in Atlantic Canada.
“It’s wonderful to have L.L. Bean choose Halifax and our development for their store in Atlantic Canada,” NADG representative Glenn Munro said in a news release. “We’re very proud of the continued growth of Dartmouth Crossing and very excited for what will be a busy 2021.”
The 518-acre Dartmouth Crossing development opened in 2007 and encompasses approximately 1.8 million square feet of retail shopping space.
Along with L.L. Bean, Dartmouth Crossing is also expected to see Cineplex’s massive entertainment complex Playdium open later this year.
In its release, NADG said it plans to “build on these marquee retailers, attracting additional entertainment, lodging, retail, and commercial tenancies.”
