Jake Allen Takes New Brunswick to the NHL
FREDERICTON–NHL goalie Jake Allen will showcase some New Brunswick pride this season. The back of his goalie mask will bear the provincial flag.
“I really just wanted to pay tribute to where I am from, to recognize all of the people back home for their support over the years,” the Fredericton native, who plays for the St. Louis Blues, told the NHLPA. “I like the fact that the colours mesh well with the St. Louis colours, too.”
“I feel very fortunate to come from New Brunswick…there aren’t a lot of players from there, so it’s nice to share it with fans and others through the mask.”
According to the NHLPA, Jake Allen is one of 50 New Brunswickers who have made it to the NHL.
