Innovatia CEO Among New Brunswickers To Receive Order Of Canada
SAINT JOHN – A prominent CEO is one of a number of New Brunswickers who will receive the Order Of Canada.
Roxanne Fairweather, co-CEO of Innovatia, has been named as a member of the Order Of Canada by Governor General Julie Payette.
Created in 1967, the Order of Canada is one of the highest honours. Presented by the governor general, the Order honours people whose service has helped shape society and helped their communities. Nearly 7,000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order of Canada.
Fairweather has been a strong advocate for literacy and women’s involvement in politics. She’s co-Chair of Achieve Literacy Greater Saint John and one of the founder of Women for 50%, a group working to address the lack of female representation in provincial politics. She’s served on University of New Brunswick’s Board of Governors since 2003, including a two-year term as Board Chair.
Ann McCain Evans, a director with The McCain Foundation; journalist Lyse Doucet; artist Georges Henri Goguen; former premier Camille Henri Thériault and Dr. Francis Pang also join Fairweather as new Order Of Canada members.
Recipients will be invited to accept their insignia at a ceremony to be held at a later date.
