C-Therm Will Market French Company’s Product in North America
FREDERICTON – C-Therm Technologies has been selected to be the North American representative for a product line of ACOEM Group’s Metravib, a French brand of instruments used for product testing by the world’s largest tire and rubber manufacturers.
Under the partnership, C-Therm will help Metravib’s prospective clients pre-sale and post-sale for the Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) line of products, including the implementation of Metravib’s technology once a customer decides to invest in it.
“They’re really well-known internationally for their work in Dynamic Mechanical Analysis….so for us to be selected as their exclusive North American representative really is a positive reflection on the team we’ve built here at C-Therm over the past few years,” said managing director Adam Harris.
Harris says Metravib’s specialty is in high-frequency, high-force capabilities and automation, including the Xpander platform, which automates the full process of testing.
C-Therm Technologies provides transient-based thermal conductivity instrumentation for research and development, production and quality control.
Harris said the partnership with Metravib works particularly because of the significant overlap of their customer base, especially in the polymer composite sector.
“We’re already talking to largely the same customer base, which allows us to have another option in our portfolio to present to them and really offer that support on both,” Harris said.
“We do produce our own proprietary line of thermal analysis equipment. We don’t offer anything in DMA, so DMA is a complementary offering within our portfolio that we’re adding with the Metravib product line.”
Metravib’s global sales manager Hugues Baurier said in a release that C-Therm has “an impressive team with a very well-equipped lab, possessing strong technical acumen.”
“We feel they can add a lot of value in the consultancy engagement with our clients and provide very capable technical support. C-Therm does a great job setting the customer up for success,” he said.
The partnership will also help C-Therm continue to build its team, Harris said. In the last three years, C-Therm has doubled its size and invested in building its North American team as it serves more American customers and as it represents French thermo analysis company SETARAM in Canada.
Now with nearly 30 employees, its portfolio will be expanded to include Metravib’s DMA products. That “really strengthens our overall ability to provide solution to any customers in the areas of polymer composite and rubber,” Harris said.
