Venn Innovation CEO Named Chair of Technology Councils of North America
MONCTON– Venn Innovation president and CEO Doug Robertson has been named chair of Technology Councils of North America (TECNA), an organization that represents nearly 50 IT and Technology trade organizations.
Robertson is the first Canadian to hold the position as the organization’s board chair. An announcement of his new role was made on Tuesday, along with the other new members of the board, which includes two other Canadians: Avvey Peters, chief strategy officer at Communitech in Ontario, and Kathy Knight, CEO of the Information and Communication Technologies Association of Manitoba.
“I feel honored and privileged to become the Chair of TECNA,” said Robertson, in a release. “It is an exciting time for TECNA as we continue to grow, with new members joining us this year in Canada, the United States, and for the first time Mexico. The tech industry we serve is global and dynamic and we have much planned in the year ahead to support our members, including a more robust effort around policy development and important industry challenges such as access to talent and workforce diversity.“
TECNA serves its members and the industry through its strong peer-to-peer network and its regional initiatives to raise the visibility and viability of the technology industry.
“We’re very pleased to have these tech industry leaders on TECNA’s Board,” said Tim Jemal, TECNA’s executive director. “The new and returning directors bring decades of experience that will help TECNA continue to better serve the members’ needs.”
