Three Things to Know About the BMM Testlabs Jobs
MONCTON–Today the province of New Brunswick announced that BMM Testlabs will be expanding their Moncton operations by creating 1,000 new jobs.
It’s a pretty big announcement for the province. New Brunswick premier Brian Gallant went as far as calling it “historic.”
Here are three things you need to know:
1) 1,000 jobs, seriously?
Seriously. The plan is to add 200 jobs in each of the next five years. According to the province, the investment will add an estimated $75 million annually to New Brunswick’s GDP once all the positions have been filled.
2) Who is BMM Testlabs anyway?
BMM Testlabs is an Australian company now headquartered in Las Vegas. They are an independent gaming testing laboratory. Essentially, they help gaming operators test their products to make sure they meet regulatory standards, which is pretty complex and can vary from one place to another.
They also offer training for gaming and lottery market professionals and run a regulatory outreach program.
3) What kind of jobs are they creating?
The 1,000 jobs include quality assurance testers, engineers, computer scientists, business development managers and project managers.
