Three New Judges Appointed In New Brunswick
FREDERICTON–The province of New Brunswick has appointed three new provincial court judges.
Suzanne Bernard of Campbellton, Eric Sonier of Tracadie and Denise LeBlanc of Moncton have been named to the provincial court bench.
Bernard received her law degree from the Université de Moncton and was called to the bar in 1994. She worked in private practice before joining the Office of the Attorney General, Public Prosecutions Services, in 1997. She will be a travelling judge based in Campbellton.
Sonier obtained his law degree from the Université de Moncton and was called to the bar in 1996. He is a partner with the firm Sonier Duguay in Tracadie. He will be a travelling judge based in Tracadie.
LeBlanc obtained her law degree from the Université de Moncton and was called to the bar in 1986. She has been with McInnes Cooper since 2004 and is currently the firm’s senior partner in Moncton. She will be a travelling judge based in Moncton.
“The assignment and appointments of these judges will ensure the timely management of court cases,” said Justice Minister Stephen Horsman . “All of the judges appointed today are well-respected lawyers and have extensive legal experience. I am confident their leadership will serve the public well.”
With these appointments, there are now 23 full-time provincial court judges in New Brunswick, as well as 11 supernumerary judges.
