CFIB Reports New Brunswick Small Business Optimism Steady
MONCTON – According to the latest information from the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), optimism among New Brunswick’s small businesses seems to be steady, but unspectacular.
New Brunswick’s Business Barometer Index remained constant in April at 63.5. About the same amount of entrepreneurs are looking to hire as are looking to lay off workers, and about 33 per cent of respondents are reporting that their firms are in good shape compared to 20 per cent who say operations are in poor shape.
In general, Canada’s small business optimism is on the rise again in April. CFIB’s monthly Business Barometer Index gained a point and a half to finish the month at 64.4 – its best level since November 2014.
