Six Kid-Friendly Things to Do in New Brunswick Over March Break
It’s March Break. You’re off work. You have free time…
But you also have children who need to be occupied.
Finding activities that are fun for the kids and at least mildly interesting for you can be a tough task. It’s not like we have Crystal Palace anymore.
Since we care about you, our dear readers, we decided to put together a few suggestions for March break activities that will be fun for the whole family:
Saint John
Imperial Theatre’s Retro Film Night – The Goonies
The Imperial Theatre is taking movie night to the next level. Come in and enjoy 80’s classic The Goonies inside the gorgeous theatre.
What’s even better? Admission is only $2!
“Navigating the Franklin Expedition” – The New Brunswick Museum
If you’re one for history and generally cool things, the New Brunswick Museum is always an awesome time for everyone. All this week, the museum is hosting a special exhibit on the lost Frankin expedition. If don’t remember your sixth-grade history class, it’s was pretty savage. NBM will be hosting discovery, baking and crafting activities every day this week to tie into the story. Not to mention all the other exhibits they have on too.
Moncton:
The Beach House
It’s still a little cold to be spending time at the beach, but the Beach House in Dieppe is the next best thing. Who wouldn’t want to play beach volleyball in a 10,000 square foot indoor sandbox? The Beach House offers programs for all ages as well as drop-in hours. This place will hold everyone over until the weather warms up.
Fit Rocks Climbing Gym
The long-anticipated rock climbing gym is finally open. No matter what age or experience level, the climbing gym offers something for everyone including youth and kids programs, adult classes and personal training.
Fredericton:
Science East
Science East has a March Break camp for kids happening all this week. They also have daily science shows for folks of all ages. They have over 150 hands-on exhibits plus many new ones. During March break you can catch one of the science shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. They run about 20 to 30 minutes long. It’s a good time to get your science on.
The Clay Cafe
If your family is looking to get a little crafty, why not check out the Clay Cafe in downtown Fredericton? It’s as simple as going in, choosing your piece and colours, then painting. With a wide variety pottery ranging from all different price points (starting at $8), Clay Cafe can make an ideal family outing.
