Pursuing the West Coast: Dominique Leger Selected for FWE E-Series
SAINT JOHN – One New Brunswick ladypreneur is heading to the West Coast.
But don’t worry, she’s coming back.
This week Dominique Leger of Saint John-based In Pursuit is heading to Vancouver to attend the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs’ (FWE) E-Series event.
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs aims to educate, energize and empower all women to become successful entrepreneurs. Their E-Series event is a rigorous boot camp often referred to as “the mini MBA for entrepreneurs.”
“We have three intense days ahead filled with seminars, guest speakers, strategy sessions and even a mandatory pitch to angel investors during Friday morning’s session,” Leger said.
In Pursuit has come a long way since its pink truck hit the road in 2013. Leger says she has some big ideas on how to take the business to the next level and hopes the event will give her some guidance and direction.
“I’d say my biggest focus and what I’m hoping to learn are some best practices on how to grow organically while still maintaining the same level of customer service and product availability my customers have become accustomed to,” she said.
Participants will take part in sessions with top-notch business leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs to discuss relevant topics for their businesses. Attendees had to undergo an interview process to be accepted. Out of the 52 women selected, Leger is the only New Brunswicker.
“There are lessons in everything, if you take the time to stop and listen. The session topics vary from business culture, to marketing, to branding to financial fluency and sales. These are all incredibly relevant topics to In Pursuit as my business embarks on its 3rd season,” Leger said. “I’m always learning different marketing techniques and tactics that I can apply to my specific business model, culture will be an extremely important conversation as I prepare to hire staff, and you can never know too much about acquiring new customers, keeping existing customers and increasing sales. “
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs E-Series takes place from April 6 to April 8.
