New Brunswick Companies at Demo Day: rayZen
With Propel ICT’s Demo Day coming up on Nov. 29 in Halifax, we’re chatting with the New Brunswick companies who will be pitching at Pier 21.
Today we meet Jeff Morehouse, co-founder and CEO of rayZen.
1) What’s your pitch?
rayZen is an online fundraising community that connects donors to non-profits through fun and exciting games. Our 50/50 platform allows our customers to create, manage and execute online draws quickly and schedule campaigns on a regular basis. Our mobile app allows donors to view upcoming and ongoing campaigns from anywhere, anytime. Think crowdfunding with a gaming twist.
Our pitch is all about showing the major pains non-profits face in their organizations and how effective fundraising can significantly reduce those pains. We’re focusing more on the greater impact organizations can make on the community if they fundraise through rayZen, instead of focusing on the product.
2) What’s your story?
Our story is pretty simple. We are a group of guys with various skills in business and tech development who want to create something to help non-profits any way possible. We’ve found that lack of funding is the main culprit to the various issues organizations face and we want to help take the stress out of fundraising and make it fun again. Everyone gets excited about winning something and we feel offering nonprofits a way to get their donors excited about giving, with a chance to win, will really help grow their organization and reach their fundraising goals.
3) What’s next for you?
We are working tirelessly to get our platform complete and get the appropriate compliance testing and approvals so we can launch in January 2017. If nothing serious happens, we will hit our goal and start changing the way non-profits fundraise so they can make a bigger impact in the community.
