New Brunswick Companies at Demo Day: Meet GradsFinder
With Propel ICT’s Demo Day coming up later today in Halifax, we’re chatting with the New Brunswick companies who will be pitching at the Marriott Harbourfront.
Today we chat with Thierry Comtois, founder of Moncton-based GradsFinder:
1) What’s your pitch?
Employers spend on average $3,500 in the recruitment process per one position. Finding the right candidate is not easy. On the other hand, student and recent graduates face difficulties finding the right job and connecting with the right employers.
GradsFinder is a search engine that will fill that gap by connecting high-potential students and recent graduates with the right employers.
This mobile-focused platform makes the search process faster, and more convenience for the job seekers. By displaying the top 10 best opportunities that the candidate is qualified for in their location, GradsFinder can ensure quality over quantity of the candidates suggested to employers. The employers are also able to proactively search for candidates in GradsFinder’s database and filter based on their needs for a specific role.
With GradsFinder, the recruitment process is easier and better for both parties.

2) What’s your story?
After spending couples of years working while completing my education at Université de Moncton, I realized the importance of work experience for students and recent graduates.
After I graduate, I decided to bring the idea of GradsFinder to life, instead of choosing a nine-to-five job. I want to offer other students and recent graduates the opportunities to gain experience and finding jobs that matter to them. I want to show that finding opportunities is not always tough and the benefits of being surrounded by mentors.
3) What’s next for you?
Gradsfinder had tremendous success in the first pilot. We got a graduate hired in a significant role at UNI Financial Cooperative.
Gradsfinder was able to have a successful pilot because of the significant support from companies like UNI Financial Cooperative, Assumption Life and Town of Riverview and over seven hundred students that signed up. In the next six months, GradsFinder will continuously improve the software and create new features to serve the current clients while building new partnerships with universities, colleges, and companies.
