New Brunswick Companies at Demo Day: IronFlow
With Propel ICT’s Demo Day coming up on Nov. 29 in Halifax, we’re chatting with the New Brunswick companies who will be pitching at Pier 21.
Today we meet Jason Gendron, president of IronFlow Technologies Inc.
1) What’s your pitch?
Great managers all have one thing in common. They want to maximize time spent on the needs of their employees and build strong relationships with their teams. Unfortunately, many managers are too busy working on administrative duties to focus on what matters most, the employees.
To change this awful trend, we have developed an on-demand suite of HR modules called PurelyHR. PurelyHR offers a tailored solution where companies have the ability to choose from a wide range of modules to satisfy their specific HR needs and efficiently manage their team. By offering an on-demand system, we offer a more flexible and affordable option for growing small and medium-sized businesses.
At launch, PurelyHR will assist companies with time-off management, time and attendance tracking, infractions and core HR information management. We will also be releasing additional modules in the near future, such as scheduling, performance management, training and much more to build a complete HR solution.
In as little as five years, we have helped over 1600 companies across 65 countries with their HR administration. We have grown to a team of 12 full-time employees and have over 60 years in software development experience collectively.
2) What’s your story?
Before Ironflow was founded, I was the co-founder of another IT company, which grew to 20+ employees. At one point during our growth, I was getting interrupted multiple times per week from my employees in regards to their vacation and sick time balances, or for an approval on taking certain days off. On top of these interruptions, all this information was tracked within spreadsheets, which was becoming very time-consuming. I realized there had to be a better way to do this!
With my developer background, I started working evenings and weekends on a system to manage all this information. A few months down the road I had created a beta version, which was being used internally. The immediate feedback received from the staff and the time saved on the management side was outstanding! It’s at that moment I saw an opportunity. Shortly after, Ironflow was founded (early 2010) and Time-Off Manager, our first product, was launched!
3) What’s next for you?
In early 2017, we will be officially launching PurelyHR! We’ll then start the transition of our current 1600+ clients from Time-Off Manager to PurelyHR, and start cross-selling them our new modules. From this point, we will continue to develop new modules in PurelyHR, to eventually have a complete HRIS system.
