NBIF Parts Ways With CEO Calvin Milbury
FREDERICTON– The New Brunswick Innovation Foundation announced Wednesday that it has “parted ways” with its CEO, Calvin Milbury.
Milbury was the organization’s CEO for the last nine years. Cathy Simpson, Chair of the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation Board of Directors, said in a release that Milbury leaves a lasting impact on the organization.
“He has supported research and startups and helped secure new funding for the NBIF that will yield significant benefits for New Brunswick for many years to come,” said Simpson. “We will immediately begin the search for a new CEO, and it is business as usual for the NBIF in the interim.”
Milbury joined the NBIF 15 years ago and assumed the role of President and CEO in 2009.
“I’m thankful for having had the privilege to serve as CEO, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from the talented team of dedicated professionals at the NBIF,” said Calvin Milbury. “I look forward to seeing the lasting impact that emerges from the work that the NBIF does each and every day.”
News of Milbury’s departure comes after the provincial government announced earlier this month that it was investing a further $5-million in NBIF’s research funding and support for graduate students, bringing the total for that work to over $11-million.
“We are looking forward to a very positive year for the NBIF as we tackle our expanded mandate,” said Simpson.
