N.B. Man Unveils His Limited Edition Innis & Gunn Beer To The World
FREDERICTON– A New Brunswick beer lover got to see his brewing creation come to life on Monday as it launched in liquor stores across the province.
Don Guimond from Grand Bay-Westfield was last year’s winner of Innis & Gunn’s “Imagine & Gunn” contest, where the brewery challenged Canadians to share their ideas for the brand’s newest limited-edition beer.
On Monday he saw his creation, “Don’s Choice”, arrived at the ANBL stores with a special celebration in Fredericton.
The beer is a black IPA with coconut and rhubarb.
“It’s a really nice dessert beer, something to have after dinner or with a strawberry rhubarb pie or something along those lines,” Guimond told Huddle. “You get the notes of coffee, the rhubarb and there’s a bit of vanilla in there. I think everyone is going to like it.”

As part of his prize, Guimond went to Scotland to brew his winning submission with the help of Dougal Gunn Sharp, the brewery’s founder and master brewer.
“It was something I never expected to do, go over to Scotland and brew a beer,” said Guimond. “Dougal is a very nice fella to brew with, he sort of walked me through it and we had a great time. It was really amazing.”
Don’s Choice will be available at all ANBL stores, and in select provinces across Canada for a limited time beginning this week. Guimond says he’s excited to finally see his creation on shelves.
“I’m really hoping everybody likes it. I’m really excited about it,” he said. “It was an amazing experience.”
