Moosehead Drops Dramatic 150th Birthday Video
New Brunswick’s Moosehead Breweries is as old as Canada, with both the brewery and the nation celebrating their 150th birthday in 2017.
The company released a new video featuring excerpts from a 1967 speech by then Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson on Canada’s past and its bright future, with the story told on the labels of Moosehead’s iconic green bottles.
Derek Oland, the onetime head of the brewery, famously said that Moosehead didn’t want to be the biggest brewery, just the one that stuck around the longest. Moosehead has truly outlasted its competitors as most of the large family-owned breweries in Canada have been absorbed into global conglomerates or simply disappeared.
