Moncton’s Alongside Named a Top 25 Up And Coming Canadian Company
MONCTON– Alongside, the Moncton-based online hiring platform, is one of three Maritime businesses recently named one of the Top 25 Canadian Up And Coming Companies by the Branham Group.
The list, which also includes Halifax-based Blockcrushr Labs and LifeRaft, recognizes promising companies in the early stages of their successes, based on innovation and promise. The Branham Group selects the companies it believes will eventually make on Branham’s Top 250.
“It’s great to be recognized and I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication from my amazing team,” said Yves Boudreau, Co-Founder and CEO of Alongside, in a release. “Being chosen as an up and coming company…is an honour, and it really highlights the level of innovation coming out of New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada as a whole.”
Alongside launched its platform in January 2015, and has had many successes in its mission to help create meaningful connections between employers and job seekers. The company has raised a total of $1.6-million in financing from investors such as 500 Startups, New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, Green Century Investment, and BDC Capital Inc.
Boudreau believes the selection committee recognized Alongside because they are using digital tools and data to foster stronger connections between companies and potential employees.
“We are not just focused on solving a problem but we’re focused on creating a better hiring experience for both employers and job seekers,” said Boudreau by e-mail. “Our team is dedicated to creating an experience where meaningful connections are made and skills gaps are closed with data-driven intelligence.”
The Branham300, now in its 24th year, ranks technology companies in Canada that are both publicly held and privately owned companies. The Branham300 also delivers insight into Canada’s start-up community through the Top 25 Up and Comers and measures the contributions made by multinationals operating in Canada.
“I am again impressed by the performance of Canada’s technology community,” said Wayne Gudbranson, CEO of Branham Group, in a release. “The sector has set another revenue record, as measured by our Top 250 ranking of Canadian companies, and the younger companies that comprise our Top 25 Up and Coming list show great promise and will help build our innovation economy.”
