Marshalls Is Opening a New Store in Fredericton
FREDERICTON – Marshalls is opening a store in Fredericton sometime in 2019, the company confirmed Thursday.
“Our property development team has confirmed for us that there will be a Marshalls coming sometime in 2019,” said a company spokesperson in an e-mail to Huddle. “At this time, we do not have any further details to share as this opening would be at least a year away.”
The company is not ready to make an announcement on a specific location and size of the store, but the spokesperson said they would release more details likely sometime in the fall.
Last week, Marshalls parent company TJX posted a job advertisement for a store manager for a new Marshalls location in Fredericton. The successful applicant will be responsible for sales of between $8 million and $20 million and oversee 80 associates, the posting said.
TJX Companies is a Fortune 100 company, and bills itself as the largest off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and globally.
Marshalls is one of the chains owned by TJX Canada, alongside Winners and Home Sense. The retailer offers prices below those at department and specialty store for comparable merchandise.
The company is opening a store in McAllister Place in Saint John in the fall of this year.
