Innovation Week’s Business Day: What You Had to Say
FREDERICTON–Business innovation was in the spotlight on the last day of Ignite Fredericton’s Innovation Week.
The day’s events included lightning talks by NB Power Smart Grid director Brad Wasson, Mycodev CEO Brennan Sisk and F6 Networks’ Mike Richard. Keynote addresses followed by Amazon Web Services solutions architecture senior manager Camil Samaha and president of Clarity Digital Leonard Brody.
“We want to celebrate those innovators,” chief of business relationships at GNB and event emcee Susan Holt said. “We want to inspire future innovation, whether that’s the youth that were here on Tuesday, whether that’s the people in this room…we want to use the opportunity this week to help inspire those future innovations that have been continuing to grow.”
Holt introduced the day’s events by describing the five key conditions for economic growth in New Brunswick: people, ideas, capital, infrastructure and a nimble government.
The lightning talks speakers highlighted how they are innovating with science and technology in the province and what they have planned for further growth.
Keynote speaker Camil Samaha spoke on how the cloud is changing the face of business by increasing productivity and agility and saving money. Leonard Brody talked adapting to rapid change and uncertainty in the modern world.
Innovation Week wraps up with the 2016 KIRA Awards Gala this evening.
