Huddle’s Emoji Guide for Business
Unless you’re still using a flip phone, you’re probably aware of a thing called emojis: the little cartoon-like pictures you can insert into text messages, social media posts and emails to better express yourself.
Kids and teens are all up in emojis, some even have entire conversations with them. But when it comes to adults, especially adults in business, sometimes using emojis can seem scary and unprofessional.
We at Huddle believe businesses everywhere should start embracing them, whether in emails to your boss or casual texts with a co-worker. Emojis are a way to embrace your inner young person and subtly let the people who work around you know what you really think.
To help your business embrace emojis, we’ve taken the liberty of creating a little guide to help you start. Below are some common emojis followed by what they mean (but let’s be real, you can make them mean whatever the hell you want).
? : “Shit, I hit ‘Reply All’!”
? : “You can find me under my desk.” (Also great to use when a meeting is boring as hell.)
? : “Is it happy hour yet?” (Though you probably broke into that bottle of scotch in your desk drawer hours ago)
? : “The colleagues are getting into it!”
? : “Those dishes in the sink are not mine.”
? : “Did anyone else understand what the boss just said?”
? : “Nice to see the IT department is on its game today.”
? : “Congratulations on not doing anything all day!”
?: “You’re a prick.” (Send this to your co-worker, or to your boss if you’re about to quit.)
? : “Time to mess with the new hire.”
? : “Nailed that presentation without throwing up.”
? : “I already spilled coffee on myself. I haven’t even made it to the elevator.”
? : “Wasn’t added to that project.” (Make sure to use with “#Blessed”)
? : “What did Bob eat for lunch today?!”
? : “Clients are visiting today. Remember not to dress like a slob.”
? : “Waiting around for you to stop slacking off…”
? : “Yes, you can put that desk together!”
? : “The boss is dad-dancing again.”
✌️ : “It’s Friday afternoon. Peace out!”
? : “Yaass! It’s a triple pay month!”
