Fredericton Chamber of Commerce Welcomes New Board President
FREDERICTON – The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce has a new board chair, Keir Clark of Scotia Wealth Management.
Clark has been on the board for five years, and part of the executive committee since 2013. He takes over from Paul Simmonds, owner of Robert Simmonds Clothing.
“[Simmonds], along with the entire board of directors and the chamber staff, have been excellent stewards of the organization and effective advocates for the business community,” said Clark. “I hope to continue to move the chamber forward for the benefit for our members and the Greater Fredericton community as a whole.”
In September, Fredericton is hosting the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s annual general meeting and conference. The conference is expected to draw 400-500 delegates and guests, and is something Clark has been keen to host, says Krista Ross, Fredericton Chamber of Commerce CEO
“The Canadian chamber AGM and conference is the highlight of the national organization’s calendar each year,” said Ross. “I know Keir has been looking forward to hosting since we were announced as hosts in 2015.”
The chamber board also had a number of incoming board members confirmed, replacing members that completed a two- or four-year term.
The newest members of the chamber board are: Wendy Hallihan, Exit Realty Advantage; Dan Pike, Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy/Liv9 Nutrition; Krishna Khaitan, Aditya Birla Group; Jason White, Altus Group; Jeff Lingley, Rainsford Contracting Ltd.; Ken Critchley, Morneau Sheppell; and Brenda Perrin, Holiday Inn Express & Suites.
