He’s a Chartered Professional Accountant and a graduate of Mount Allison University.
Scott Balfour, Emera’s current CFO, will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer, Northeast & Caribbean, effective March 1, 2016. In his new job. Balfour will lead Emera’s existing operations, including Nova Scotia Power, Emera Energy, Emera Maine, Emera Caribbean, Emera Brunswick Pipeline and Emera Utility Services.
“Emera is undergoing a significant strategic expansion,” said Emera CEO Chris Huskilson. “These changes will strengthen our capacity to manage this growth and achieve our strategic goals.”
These executive changes follow the realignment of Emera’s executive team, and the appointment of Rob Bennett as President of Emera US Inc. He’s responsible for the integration of TECO Energy, which Emera announced it will acquire in September of 2015.
That acquisition makes Emera one of the top 20 largest North American regulated utilities, with $US20 billion in assets and more than 2.4 million customers.
