SAINT JOHN – The East Coast Music Association will be making an announcement in Saint John’s City Market on Monday at 12:30 p.m.
Exactly what that announcement will be…remains unclear.

Not that we’re speculating, or getting our hopes up about Saint John being named as a possible host for the 2017 ECMAs or anything. It’s just that, given that the event tends to generate millions of dollars for the host city’s economy and that it pretty much amounts to a big, week-long party…well. We can’t help but hope.
But hey – we’re not the only ones who are going to be holding their breath all weekend (good lungs, it’s genetic).
Chuck Teed, the official “local champion of the ECMAs” sounded pretty hopeful too, when we checked in with him.
“Our team started chatting with the ECMAs in 2014, and over the last year have demonstrated to the association that Saint John is eager and willing to host the event. I am hopeful that the announcement on Monday will be good news for the city.”
Indeed. Don’t we all…
