The Delta Hotel and Brunswick Square Complex Undergoing $20-Million Renovation
The Delta Saint John and Brunswick Square Complex in uptown Saint John is in the midst of $20-million worth of renovations that began last June with the hotel, and continue this month with work now underway on the parking garage.
The $10-million hotel renovation will bring a renewed look to the 254-room hotel. The work includes the hotel lobby, 18,000 square-feet of conference space, guest rooms, suites, public spaces, pool and fitness centre. The renovation is set to be complete by end of 2017.
The 730-space Brunswick Square parking garage is also undergoing a $10-million upgrade that began earlier this month. Paulette Hicks, General Manager of the complex and President of the Saint John Hotel Association, said in a release that they’re staging the renovations to minimize the inconveniences for their customers.
“Taking a phased approach to construction will ensure the parking garage and the hotel continue to be accessible and open for business throughout the renovation,” said Hicks. “We’re aiming to provide our clients with all the benefits of a remodelled facility while minimizing the disruption of construction. This major investment will not only ensure our guests continue to have a high-quality visitor experience, it also is a solid testament to the Saint John community that our new owners have confidence in this landmark building.”
The entire complex was acquired by Slate Office REIT in 2015. In its entirety, it includes four entities: Brunswick Square Office Tower, Brunswick Square Shopping Centre, Brunswick Square Parking Garage and the Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John.
