Corporate Research Associates Report Consumer Confidence Increase for Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John
HALIFAX – Consumer confidence in Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton continues to rise, according to the latest Urban Report survey conducted by Corporate Research Associates Inc. (CRA).
This quarter’s results follow a notable drop in consumer confidence in both Fredericton and Saint John nine months ago. Consumer confidence among Fredericton residents currently rests at 104.9, an increase from 100.4 three months ago and 83.6 in the first quarter of this year, while numbers are up to 102.3 in Saint John, an increase from 99.6 three months ago and 81.3 in this year’s first quarter.
Consumer confidence in Moncton increased for the third consecutive quarter after a sharp decline in the first quarter of this year. At 105.6, consumer confidence is up from 103.2 three months ago and 88.3 earlier in the year.
The report also found that satisfaction with the Saint John Council is on par with three months ago, with 60 per cent of residents satisfied with the performance of Council under Mayor Don Darling’s leadership.
Satisfaction with the performance of the Fredericton Council has increased to 78 per cent since Mayor Mike O’Brien was elected into office in May while satisfaction with the Moncton Council has remained high at 66 per cent satisfaction with the Council’s performance under Mayor Dawn Arnold’s leadership.
The Urban Report results come from an independent telephone survey of adult residents in Halifax, Saint John, Moncton and Fredericton.
