Commercial Properties Buys Scotsburn “Popsicle Factory” in Saint John
SAINT JOHN– The Scotsburn “Popsicle Factory” property in Saint John now has new owners.
Commercial Properties, a Saint John-based property developer and manager, announced today that it has acquired the Scotsburn Frozen Novelty Plant, popularly known as the “Popsicle Factory,” on Station Street in Saint John.
The company also owns land on each side of the Scotsburn property, making the area, located across the street from the Harbour Station arena, a strong candidate for future development.
In February 2016, Scotsburn announced it was ceasing all its Saint John operations in Fall 2016.
“Commercial Properties is a commercial real estate company with a desire to create new developments in the communities in which we operate,” said Paul Moore, general manager of Commercial Properties in a release. “While there are no current plans for development at the location, the ability to assemble large parcels of land is key to being ready to pursue opportunities when the timing is right.”
Commercial Properties will demolish the existing Station Street building in the coming months.
